Once again this year, Snowflake Kingdom promises to be a feast for the eyes at the 48th edition of Winterlude, with a host of activities for the whole family. The huge winter playground, located at the north end of Gatineau's Parc Jacques-Cartier, has become a not-to-be-missed Outaouais tradition. There's no shortage of fun to be had, and it's free! Be there from January 30 to February 16, 2026.
By day or by night, take the time to stroll around and let yourself be tempted by one or other of the activities. There are facilities for children and their parents all over the site, including the Live Performance Stage, where you can enjoy dance and musical performances, as well as dazzling feats of skill of all kinds.
Looking for the perfect accommodation during Winterlude? The Best Western PLUS Gatineau-Ottawa Hotel and Conference Centre is located directly in front of the Domaine des flocons, within walking distance of the activities taking place on the other side of the river. A large parking lot is available for guests, so you can park your vehicle and spend more time with your family. There's also a heated swimming pool. Bring your bathing suits!
For young and old alike, there's a whole host of activities on offer. Dazzle your friends and family with obstacle courses, a maze or tug-of-war. For an adrenaline rush and a magnificent view of the region, take a ride on the Ferris wheel. You'll be amazed by the snow sculptures, each as impressive as the next.
This year, Canadian winter identity will be at the heart of the festivities. A giant screen will broadcast the Olympic Games live, creating a festive atmosphere. The event will also highlight diversity, inclusion, and Indigenous and Northern cultures, which contribute to the country's richness.
New this year: the Nordic Race is coming to Gatineau. Organized in collaboration with the Nomades du Parc, this event is the only timed race of the winter in the region. On February 8, 2026, participants will be able to choose between 1 km, 5 km, or 12 km courses, all offering superb views along the Gatineau River and Leamy Lake. Participants will also enjoy door prizes, a DJ, hot chocolate, and beaver tails.
Challenge yourself by taking part Ready to set new records? Run, crawl, climb, straddle and cross in The Big Blizzard. That's what 8 to 16 year-olds who crave thrills and physical exertion can experience on an original course made of snow, tires and tunnels. Imagine your children's pride when they succeed in completing a mission!
Dive into the heart of the action with Flurry and Mini Flurry, dynamic and safe activities designed for everyone! In an area fitted out with obstacles, launch yourself into a frantic battle by aiming foam balls at your opponents. Younger children can take part in Mini Flurry, a version adapted for them, where they must be accompanied by a parent. Animators are on hand to ensure safety and to time each game for maximum fun. Let the storm of laughter and memories begin!
Give your little ones a fun and stimulating experience with The lil' breeze. This captivating course, specially designed for young children, challenges both their physical abilities and their spirit of adventure. Every element is designed to stimulate their imagination: go through snowy tunnels, climb structures and try to find your way between numerous suspended Styrofoam noodles. And don't forget Ice dig, a real treasure hunt in which little adventurers will be put to the test in this free, supervised activity.
Especially for this 48th edition, students are invited to Afterslide Evenings parties organized in collaboration with the Igloofest electronic music festival and the Commission jeunesse de Gatineau. Two parties reserved for teens and young adults will allow them to enjoy the park until 10 p.m. in an electrifying atmosphere. Expect DJ performances, an illuminated Ferris wheel, tube sliding, a 360° camera, and much more. Choose your best retro winter look, as a prize will be awarded for the best outfit!
