Outaouais, April 16, 2024 – Registration is now open for the 2024 edition of Portes ouvertes sur le tourisme (“Doors open on tourism”), which will take place from April 19 to 21. Organized by the Conseil québécois des ressources humaines en tourisme (CQRHT) with funding from the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec, the event offers an exclusive inside look at Québec’s tourism industry and the occupations and job opportunities available.
Seventy businesses from eleven regions will be on hand to offer attendees a behind-the-scenes look at their operations through various activities. Some of the activities will be educational, some will be fun, and all will highlight a wide range of job opportunities. All activities are free and can be booked (space is limited) through the event website, emploisaexplorer.com (content in French only).
As the summer season approaches, this event is a unique opportunity for young people, students, workers and job seekers to get a feel for the tourism industry workplace, and discover or rediscover the hospitality, leisure and entertainment, accommodation, passenger transport, and travel services sectors. From boat captain to maintenance worker, from chef to operations supervisor, from lifeguard to ride mechanic, the jobs are many and varied.
