“I’ve always known I wanted to start something, launch a business. I just didn’t know what it would be, until one day I saw an ad for domes in my Facebook news feed.”  It was love at first sight for Fanny. Accommodation in the heart of nature, but with a full bathroom, heated floors, a deck and a hot tub? A dream come true! From that moment on, nothing could stop her. The first year wasn’t easy, but despite the challenges, Fanny was able to count on the support of her family, a project manager, the municipality and the region to make her vision a reality. 

A native of the region, Fanny believes the Vallée-de-la-Gatineau has immense potential and deserves to be better known. Thanks to Dômes Outaouais, she hopes to encourage tourists to visit the area and enjoy the outdoors during their stay.  Snowshoeing, cross-country and downhill skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, road biking, swimming and water sports are all available within 15 minutes of the domes. Fanny and her partner also maintain several kilometres of trails directly on the property so that visitors can get back to nature without having to take their car. 

“The thing I’m proudest of is that I dared. I was the first in the region to offer this type of accommodation, and I have lots of ideas for the future!”  There are two domes currently available; a third will be built this fall, and Fanny hopes to add two more by late 2024.
