Outreach, development, mobilization: looking back on a successful year

Outaouais, October 2nd, 2025 – Outaouais Tourism held its 44th Annual General Assembly at Camp Fortune on October 1st, 2025, to review the regional tourism association’s activities over the past year, present the results for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and elect the Board of Directors in front of the members gathered for the occasion.

The year 2024-2025 was marked by the arrival of new leadership at the head of the organization, with the appointment of Geneviève Latulippe as CEO in August 2024, followed by Frédérique Henry as Assistant General Manager in February 2025.

2024-25 HIGHLIGHTS

  • In the fall of 2024, Outaouais Tourism actively relaunched the project for a new convention center in Gatineau. Geneviève Latulippe was appointed co-chair of the steering committee in collaboration with the City of Gatineau, and several political and consultation initiatives were launched to move this project forward.
  • Outaouais Tourism continued its efforts to consolidate its status as Quebec’s official tourist gateway, notably by investing in agreements with Ottawa Tourism, Air France, and Air Canada to promote direct flights between Ottawa and Europe, and by strengthening its ties with economic and tourism stakeholders in the greater National Capital Region.
  • In partnership with l’École hôtelière de l’Outaouais, Outaouais Tourism launched the very first edition of L’Outaouais en cuisine, a culinary competition showcasing local produce and talent and supported by the Entente sectorielle bioalimentaire de l’Outaouais 2022-2025. The project will host their second edition in 2026.
  • Outaouais Tourism’s social media platforms have seen significant growth, reflecting a growth of interest in the content offered by the team: +8.6% followers on Facebook and +42.7% on Instagram.
  • Tourist traffic in the region remained stable, with a 0.9% increase in overnight stays between January and December 2024 compared to the previous year. The first three months of 2025 are already showing significant progression, with an increase of 8.9% compared to the same period in 2024.
  • Several businesses in the region received support through funding programs offered by both the Ministère du Tourisme du Québec and Outaouais Tourism.

The detailed report of activities for the year 2024-2025 is available online (French only).
