The Outaouais Ambassadors' Circle

The Outaouais Ambassadors’ Circle brings together professors, researchers and leaders from the business, scientific and institutional sectors who make a significant contribution to raising the profile of the region and of Quebec. Through their expertise and commitment, these individuals help promote the Outaouais as a host destination for major business events. The Circle aims to recognise and support the contribution of these ambassadors in attracting conventions and conferences, whilst enhancing the visibility of the institutions, organisations and sectors they represent.

Positioning the destination

The Circle’s mission is to position Gatineau and the Outaouais as a destination of choice for hosting business events and conferences. Located at the heart of Canada’s National Capital Region, the destination benefits from strategic accessibility, suitable infrastructure and an ecosystem rich in expertise.

The development and mobilisation of a network of committed ambassadors helps attract events that contribute to economic vitality, knowledge development and the strengthening of the regional social fabric.

Structured support

Organising a national or international conference relies on close collaboration between various partners. For over 40 years, Tourisme Outaouais has been supporting initiatives aimed at promoting the destination and assisting stakeholders in the tourism and events industry.

Ambassadors receive personalised support throughout the various stages of their process. This support includes needs analysis, assistance with prospecting efforts, preparation of bids, coordination of certain logistical aspects, as well as access to promotional tools and financial support programmes. The aim is to facilitate the implementation of projects and ensure they align with the destination’s development priorities.

Ambassadors have access to resources and tools designed to support their efforts, including reference documents and programmes such as the Business Tourism Support (STA) initiative, which aims to help attract eligible events.

A commitment to regional development

Involvement in the Ambassadors’ Circle is part of an approach aimed at contributing to the region’s development. It helps to strengthen links between the academic, economic and institutional sectors, whilst fostering the emergence of promising initiatives.

This commitment also helps to raise the profile of local expertise, support innovation and generate lasting positive benefits for the community.
