Immerse yourself in Oniro: What do animals dream of? The new night walk of approximately 1 km, with 17 scenes in the heart of Parc Omega forest. The trail is bilingual: each scene alternates between French and English. Along the trail, admire spectacular projections, enchanted scenery and light shows. Captivating music, written by Maxime Lepage, and the voices of many renowned actors, including Guylaine Tremblay, Paul Ahmarani, Vincent-Guillaume Otis, Vincent Leclerc, Mariah Inger, Jean Marchand, and many others, bring the story to life.
The visual work is by Michel Lemieux, a multidisciplinary artist who has created notable works and large-scale shows in Quebec and internationally, including for Cirque du Soleil. The deeply sensitive story appeals to the human maternal instinct, evoking the fragility and innocence of children, like young wolves who, at two months old, have not yet developed their predatory instincts. Upon entering, you are invited to pass through a large wooden arch, symbolizing the passage between our world and that of animals. As you enter the darkness, you encounter the luminous eyes of wolves staring at you, reminding you how small humans are in the face of the grandeur of nature. The forest envelops you and it is the trees that tell the story, because here, the trees can see into the dreams of animals. The story begins at the wolves' lookout, where the moon welcomes you. In summer, you may be lucky enough to see the wolves in the flesh. A she-wolf dreams of a fire and loses one of her cubs: Oniro. The following painting shows the forest growing back after the fire, a symbol of resilience. Next, discover the dream of a fox. Enter a goose nest where the fox's head is located, until the goose chases it away. Oniro then flees into a burrow, a gentle transition to a clearing. Then wander through a deer ravage where reflections blur your perception. The journey then transports you to the serene and powerful wood bison, who dream of the wind. Their illuminated hearts beat in unison to the rhythm of the forest. The essence of the forest is captured in a soft light. Then comes a scene where leaning trees create an optical illusion of a storm. The setting creates a feeling of vertigo and even gives the impression of losing your footing at times. Oniro then discovers the adult world, with projections of animal fights representing the brutal transition from childhood to adulthood and marking the end of innocence. But the experience doesn't end there. Distorting mirrors appear, reflecting visitors in a strange way, bringing them back to their own animal side. Then comes the bear's dream, a world of honey, sweetness, and temptation. You enter a giant beehive, where the walls vibrate with light and sound, until you discover three bear cubs who seem to be admiring something mysterious. In this playful and poetic scene, the visitor becomes the main character in the bear's dream. They are called upon to imitate the animal, chasing away the bees to get to the honey, in an interactive role-playing game that echoes instinct, desire, and primitive gluttony. The final vision takes shape: it is a luminous snowball in which Oniro grows up, says goodbye to his friends, and then reunites with his mother. The dream dissipates and the wolf realizes that she never really lost him: it was just a dream. The final scene reveals a sunrise, a rooster crowing, and a sky lighting up. This is a philosophical tale, evoking the invisible bonds between all living beings, a tribute to the dreams of animals, the forest, and human emotions. This story evokes the spirit of The Little Prince: a story told in simple language, accessible to children, but with profound meaning for adults. Everyone will find something that resonates with them and experience their own emotions. Breathe, listen, and observe. This journey is a poetic walk that touches the heart, soothes the soul, and leaves you transformed.
Please read the safety instructions before beginning the activity.
