Geneviève Latulippe named CEO of Outaouais Tourism

Outaouais, July 3, 2024 – The board of directors of Outaouais Tourism is pleased to announce the appointment of Geneviève Latulippe as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Outaouais Tourism. Ms. Latulippe will assume her new duties on August 5, 2024.

Geneviève Latulippe has been active in the Outaouais regional community for more than 20 years. Since May 2022, she has been general manager of the Association de la construction du Québec for the Outaouais - Abitibi and Northwest Quebec Region. Previously, she was assistant general manager of the Municipality of Pontiac. She therefore has extensive experience in managing multidisciplinary teams, strategic planning, administration, and building partnerships with various sectors: municipal, governmental, public and private.

Ms. Latulippe has also served as a chief of staff and political attaché at the ministerial and deputy level, and worked as a journalist for nearly a decade. Her career has given her a thorough understanding of public affairs, the media, and politics, as well as excellent communication skills.

A recent graduate in civil law from the University of Ottawa, Ms. Latulippe also holds a bachelor of arts with a minor in French literature and a diploma in journalism from La Cité.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Latulippe as the new CEO of Outaouais Tourism,” said Lélia Bâcle-Mainguy, Outaouais Tourism board chair. “Her senior management experience and her knowledge of various sectors will undoubtedly enable her to forge relations and partnerships with key players in the tourism industry, and her expertise in communications and public affairs will be a significant asset in showcasing the Outaouais region.”

“I’m delighted to be joining Outaouais Tourism! I’m looking forward to meeting, supporting, and working with the organization’s members and partners. I’d like to thank the selection committee for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the mandate of a team that wants to responsibly develop the Outaouais tourism offer and position the region as a prime destination for visitors,” said Geneviève Latulippe, incoming CEO of Outaouais Tourism.

HIRING PROCESS

EPSI, a local human resources company, was asked to develop and oversee the recruitment process. A five-person selection committee was formed, consisting of three members of the Outaouais Tourism board of directors, the executive assistant to the CEO of Outaouais Tourism, and a representative from EPSI. After a rigorous process, the committee selected Ms. Latulippe to lead the organization.

The Outaouais Tourism team would like to extend a warm welcome to Ms. Latulippe. We would also like to thank Martine Deschênes, assistant to the CEO, who has been acting general manager since May 27, 2024, ensuring a smooth transition between the departure of former CEO Julie Kinnear and the arrival of Ms. Latulippe.
