This summer residence was built in 1930 for Ottawa businessman Ambrose O'Brien, to plans by architect W.E. Noffke. It is located southeast of Meech Lake in Gatineau Park. The O'Brien family owned several companies, including Confederation Construction, which helped build the transcontinental railway; O'Brien Gold Mine; Renfrew Woollen Mills; and Ottawa Valley Amusements. This family is also associated with the birth of the National Hockey League in 1909.
